How much does it cost?

When can I enroll?

Open Enrollment for 2024 begins November 1, 2023. Even though Open Enrollment is closed for 2023 you may still be able to enroll if you meet any of the special exemption criteria. 

What Does Gold, Silver or Bronze Mean?

In short, the “metal” rankings break down how much of the cost that you (the insured) pay. Currently, the breakdown is: bronze – 40%, silver – 30%, gold – 20%, and platinum – 10%. Who can get insurance?

To be eligible for insurance subsidies you must be currently living in the US, are either a citizen or legal resident, are not currently incarcerated, and you must meet some income requirements. What is a Qualifying Life Event?

There are a few different types of qualifying life events that will allow you to enroll in Obamacare outside of the enrollment period:

  • You recently lost insurance coverage that met government requirements (due to job or coverage loss)
  • Your family has changed due to childbirth, marriage, divorce, adoption, death
  • You permanently moved to a new area where your coverage is no longer effective

  • Machine Readable Immigrant Visa (with temporary I-551 language)

  • Arrival/Departure Record (I-94/I-94A)
  • Arrival/Departure Record in foreign passport (I-94)
  • Foreign Passport
  • Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status (I-20)
  • Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor Status (DS-2019)
  • Notice of Action (I-797)
  • Document indicating membership in a federally recognized Indian tribe or American Indian born in Canada
